This was the illustration that I wanted to do for halloween, but I haven't been able to finish it until now!
My main inspiration has been certainly "The Fearless Vampire Killers" by Roman Polanski, one of my favorite movies since I was a child!
I've always been fascinated by that phantasmagoric halo of all the vampire court during the minuet scene; the hypnotic melody of the harpsichord, the decadent ballroom illuminated by the candlelight... And what to say about the lovely Sharon Tate? Tragic muse from the '60s that will live forever in our memories...
My passion for the 18th century is also reflected in this illustration... and what better look for such a sophisticated undead lady than this style that represents perfectly the greatest expression of Rococo! Her floating and powdered presence shows us her most spectral side, but, at the same time, her icy and penetrating gaze reveals us her ferocity and bloodlust 🍷
Would you accept her hand to become her eternal dance partner if she beckoned you? I warn you that she is extremely capricious and doesn't take no for an answer! 💀

La marquesa de las brumas
Esta es la ilustración que quise hacer para halloween, ¡pero hasta ahora no había podido terminarla!
Mi gran inspiración ha sido "El baile de los vampiros" de Roman Polanski ¡Una de mis películas favoritas desde niña!
Siempre me ha fascinado ese halo fantasmagórico que luce toda la corte de vampiros durante la escena del minué; la hipnótica melodía de clavicordio, el decadente salón iluminado por la luz de las velas... ¿y qué decir de la encantadora Sharon Tate? Trágica musa de los 60, siempre presente en nuestra memoria...
Mi pasión por el siglo XVIII también queda patente en esta ilustración... ¡y qué mejor estilo de vestuario para tan refinada dama de ultratumba que aquel que hace honor a la máxima expresión del Rococó! Su presencia empolvada y flotante nos muestra su lado más espectral, pero, a su vez, su mirada fría y penetrante nos revela su ferocidad y sed de sangre 🍷
Aceptaríais su mano para ser su eterna pareja de baile si así os lo pidiera? ¡Os advierto que es terriblemente caprichosa y no acepta una negativa! 💀
