"En las plácidas aguas de la laguna, una bella sirena entona una dulce melodía que aprendió de un marinero demasiado ambicioso...
Sentada en su frío trono de piedra, acaricia la ridícula peluca de aquel que quiso engañarla con una vieja canción de amor, creyéndola tan ingenua como hermosa; sus cabellos mojados se extienden sobre las rocas cual manto triunfante y su larga cola pende suavemente desde lo alto acentuando su esbelta figura.
Ella le sonríe mientras recuerda el sabor de sus entrañas; no existe mayor recompensa que la cabeza de un cazador cazado...
La poesía de su tonada en sus huesos congelada."
